On The Train

Well, Hi there everyone who may be reading this blog.  This is the first time that I have ever blogged before, so if it isn't any good I apologize.  I guess you just talk about what you are doing.  So here goes...

This evening at 6:12 pm I got on a Amtrak train in Amsterdam, New York.  I am currently about 20 minutes away from Penn Station in NYC.  Once I get to Penn Station, I am going to be taking the Long Island Railroad to Jamaica in Queens and then the AirTrain to JFK airport where my flight leaves at 7am tomorrow morning.

I was thinking about getting a hotel, but I spent a bunch of money today on "Business" attire that is required at the embassy, so I will probably just sleep on the floor at JFK.

We are crossing into Manhattan right now.

From JFK I fly to Toronto, Canada where I get on my flight to Beijing around 3 pm tomorrow.  It is a 13 or so hour flight, but I will arrive in Beijing around 4 pm on Wednesday.  I will be starting work Thursday morning at 9 am.

Shout out to Chad and Katie and Gary and Bruno and Regina and James.  Wouldn't be able to do this without your help.  I really appreciate it.  Hope harvest goes well this week.

Also shout out to Mom, Dad, Mark, Erica and Sara.  You guys are wonderful.  Thank you.

Well, almost to Penn Station.  I will try to post again maybe tomorrow in Toronto, or when I get to Beijing on Wednesday.

FYI it is a 12 hour time difference between Lexington and Beijing.

Be good,

 John

  1. John it is good to heard about you.
Tomorrow we will start harvesting the soybean at Hardin County with the team, so don't worry about that.
I wish you all the best for this trip.
    Good luck.
    Bruno
